Subject: call centre sux!!!
  supposely I can use client-number check my status thur 1-888-242-2100.

It´s close to 40 days after I renew my post-secandary work-permit inland. Just try to find out the result.

I tried 10 times from last week until today, each time after I put my clinet number. " computer system is not available at this time".

Even I put wrong client number, or whatever, still, " not available"

Tried to press 0 to speak to an agent, it´s not like other call centre, if it´s busy, just hold. Instead, cic call centre, if it´s busy, hang up automaticly. Never get thru, no matter 8:00am or 3:30pm afternoon, everytime hang up on me automaticly.


did anybody phone thru and talk to real person? share experience please

If at all possible do not call on Mondays or Tuesdays, these are the peak days, today would be particularily busy with last Friday being a holiday.

Once you get through the automated phone system you will be put on hold if there are any lines available. If there are no lines available for you to be placed on hold your call will be dropped, you will just have to keep calling until you get a line and stay on hold until someone comes on.

The phone systems works just like everyone else, just that they get overloaded.

Also try calling first thing in the morning as soon as they open - 8am I think it is.

I guess you really won´t get much. The CIC system won´t reflect the status of your work permit application until it has been approved (or rejected if that´s the case). And since it´s taking about 50+ days for that... you´re still on the ´limbo´ time. Your application is sitting waiting for it´s turn.

So don´t think about it much and be patient.. even if you talk with one of the operators, they won´t give other info... they can´t see more than that.

I already went through that twice... you´re close to it being assessed

I should calm down I guess, haha, me, already became PR veteran, wait more than 1 year since applied, no IA yet, I thought I am the last person gonna feel frustrating, but I am wrong.

not sure if there will have any confuse to cic that I am waiting PR and extend work permit at the same time

Don´t forget the time zones!!!! If you are going to call early you´ll have to get up really early.
