Subject: reapply for skilled worker, will it take same time?
my application for the skilled worker imigration has been just rejected (Buffalo, NY), but i will get the enough points in near future, so planning to reply under the same category.

My question is, will it take the same amount of time for their decision? or will it be shorter? as they do not have to go over all the creential checks again (i think so). previously it took around 1 year till I got the rejection letter from them. I will send the application again with Buffalo, NY. Will the lawyer service be advisable for me as once i was being rejected?
thank you.

when i applied, I calculated I has 68 points, I am a student at present in Canada. They asked me to give IELTS for english proficiency. my overall band was 7, but in reading 7 writing section of english proficiecy, my immigration officer gave me moderate efficiency & speaking and listening I got high profociency marks. so I got 64 total points & they sent me a rejection letter.
It is rediculous the way they calculated my total points, but whatever I have to apply it again. I never had given even a chance for an interview or anything.
I am finishing up my degree here, & in the case of getting job here in canada I will get the points for arranged employment. that´s the only hope for me at this point.
So, I am just wandering, if I reapply, will it take the same time to process the application?

thanks departure bay,
I got,
22 in Education
10 in age
0 in arranged employment
12 (4+4+2+2) in language
5 in adaptibility
15 in experience
= total 64/100.
if I would have 16/16 in english, I would have got the immigration. but that is not the case now.

Hi Hpm,

The overall score in IELTS is not important. You MUST score atleast 7 in each section to get the max 16 points. Please visit the following link to find out how points are given for english proficiency based on IELTS score.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-3-1.html

I recommend that you appear in IELTS again and improve your score. If you get atleast 7 in each section you will qualify under the current point system and you can submit your application to Buffalo once again.

Technically, when you re-apply your application will be considered a new application and will go at the bottom of the pile.

However, somewhere along the verification who knows your past application might be considered and less checkings will be required so...I´m guessing here...no one I think can really give you a very accurate answer.

Work on improving your points...as Kenny said, you have to score at least 7 in every category. So take the test again, if you´ll get 7 in every subject then re-apply. Don´t worry about the processing time..that is beyond anyone´s control....goodluck

PS...I don´t think you need a lawyer..you already know the rules...how to fill up the forms...where to submit...what to do...you don´t need them anymore...just improve on your IELTS score and you´re ready to re-apply....goodluck.

I have applied to skilled worke immigration to CIC Sydney but I was rejected because of invalied NOC number (I should write NOC#2112-A, but I wrote NOC# 2112). Can I apply by again by giving the right NOC#? Thank you in advance.

The new IELTS rule is not 7points overall, to get max of 4points, u must have at least 6.5 in reading, writing, speaking and 7.5 in Listening. That was why u got 12 points. The 2 points u had were in Listening 7 and writing 6
