1.3 billion over 5 years. BillionS is a stretch. Does not change targets set out by Volpe which adds (hopefully) another 10-15,000 to the annual intake. From what I am reading, this is a RE announcement of previous funding promises.

Be very careful how excited you get about any promises made in the next 6 weeks. The government is trying to make everyone forget how corrupt they are and hopefully win another term in office. It is easy to make promises you might never have to keep.

The one good thing... we are all getting a great lesson in Canadian politics.

$3.5 billion + 1.3 billion does equal billions. But the article is right in tagging ´maybe´ to the headline. This is just election posturing, and nothing might come of it. Even if it does, the spending will probably be far short, as in the past.
