Subject: PPR from N-Delhi
  Hello friends,
Firstly thanks very much every body who gives responses to the others who need help. I got medical in April-05 and have sent ROLF and Passport in may-05 but after that I got nothing from cic new delhi(India). Is there any one who are in same boat or have knowledge that how long it will take to get my passport back from embassy.

Thanks,

Regards,

Ramandeep

It should not take so long. In most of cases, they get passport within 2-3 months.

Send them letter/email and inquire about your passport.

Good luck!!

Raman, I have a somewhat similar timeline like yours and Iam waiting for the PPR, Iam based in the US, its a good thing in a way that they did not ask for my PP if the waiting time to get your passport is so long. I have a friend in Dubai who has also applied through CHC New Delhi and has a similar timeline, he is also waiting for his PPR.

I believe there is a backlog and they will start processing visas in 2006. All those who are abroad at this time probably have not been asked for passports from CHC New Delhi for this reason. Also, I think the CHC knows that we will need them for travel. Iam not saying that you dont need to travel, but abroad it is also used for identification purposes. In places like Dubai, the sponsoring company sometimes keeps your passport for security reasons.

But like D said they shouldn´t be keeping your passport for so long. Go ahead and enquire about it.Good luck!
