Anyone has any idea of IELTS grading.
Is overall grade of 7.5 good or just acceptable.
What are the grades required to score maximum points for each section.
Since the exams went well , was expecting higher grade.
Is it something that they don´t give better grades....has anyone got 9

Dear mp,
IELTS score of 7 or more gives you higher scores when u apply. They will check ur score in each module i.e. speaking, listening, reading and writing. If u get 7.5 then its more than sufficient.

I think you have to score at least 7 in each subject to get the max points of 4 per subject or 16 total.

yes vyou ahve a good overall band score but they do look into all sections and u should have scored 7or above in each band to get the full 16

Overall score does not matter. You will get points based on the score in individual sections.
If your score in a sections is:
Between 7.0 - 9.0 you get 4 points
Between 5.0 - 6.9 you get 2 points
Between 4.0 - 4.9 you get 1(to a maximum of 2)
Below 4 you get 0 points

listening:7
Reading:7
Writing:7
Speaking:8
Overall : 7.5

My wifes has scored 8 in listening, 6.5 reading, 5.5 in writing and 7.5in speaking and her over all band score is 7. is it a good score?
