This is an advise for :

All of you guys under skilled worker category, who can qualify
to get 67 points only if they get a particular score in IELTS

1) Scenario 1 : If you have not applied and considering to apply and your score would be 67 only if you get 7 in two bands and between 5-6.9 in the other two i.e you need total of 4+4+2+2 = 10 points to get to 67.

2) Scenario 2 : If you have not applied and considering to apply and your score would be 67 only if you get 7 in all four bands i.e you need total of 4+4+4+$= 16 points to get to 67.

Please take the test before you apply to score 10/16 points, becuase you will eventually have to do it and if you don´t your application will be rejected. The CIC will anyway ask you take the test if you have not already taken it , this way if you take it before you
apply you will avoid lot of stress and can also go in for secound chance since there has to be gap of 90 days between exam attempts.

Hope this helps

Brian

sam70,

score of 7 in each section is required to get the maximum 16 points....the scores you posted will get 8 points total.

If you can still get 67 points with that score then it´s okay.

Kenny posted this in a another thread:

If your score in a sections is:

Between 7.0 - 9.0 you get 4 points
Between 5.0 - 6.9 you get 2 points
Between 4.0 - 4.9 you get 1(to a maximum of 2)
Below 4 you get 0 points

Should only the principal applicant take the test or the spouse would also need to take the test?

we have confirmed it time and again , the overall band score is not important it is the individual band score that matters and each is worth max 4 points.

What is important is take the test and apply if the test score will make the points to 67, otherwise in all probability your application will be rejected.

If you are born and raised in a English speaking country, have English speaking parents, and formal education in English, there is no reason to have to worry about IELTS. Transcripts from institutins, along with a letter explaining this, will suffice.

IELTS is if you are not a native speaker, or absolutely can´t show that with transcripts, etc.

I agree, earlier IELTS was optional , but not any more
if one was not born or raised in English speaking country. My friend from Korea was not asked to take IELTS EXAM 2 years back , person with almost similar backgroud has now been requested to take the exam; the rules have changed.
