I submitted my application in Mar-2005 receipt dated Mar-28-2005. I have not heard anything back from the Buffalo office, I live in US & have applied as skilled worker. When should I be expecting a reply from CIC...
Don´t know what AOI or IA is ... see them used on other discussions.

how come you did not receive AOR yet?
AOR means Aknowled. of Reci.
IA means Initial Assis.
AOR comes after your submit. 1-3 months
IA comes 9-12 monts after AOR

Do you have a file number now?
AOR (Acknowledgment of Receipt) is a letter from CIC that assigns you your file number. It´s been 8 months now, you should have at least received your file number.
If you don´t have your file number yet send a polite letter to CIC inquiring about your status.
Do you have a consultant? Please don´t tell me you give the application payment to them....goodluck.

I did receive the initial File number is that what AOR is ?.. When should I expect IA ? is there any perceived timeline.

Yes the FileNumber is AOR. I am Mar 31st AOR. and waiting for IA. From what I hear we should expect IA only in Jan/Feb 06 ..

feb 05 aor started to receive IA in Oct and Nov according to yogi so Mar/Apr should receive in Dec-Jan
