Subject: IELTS required?
  Hello,

I´ve studied in an international high school abroad, completed IB and IGCSE Programs. Then I studied engineering in Canada at UofT. Now I´m working at a company in Canada.

Do I need to take the IELTS test for my PR application?

If I send my application without the test results and they tell me to take it later on, does this delay my application process?

Thanks,

you can send applicaiton without it and take it in a month or so .. if you take it after they request, there will be some delay because you may have to wait for exam date etc..
and you don´t get required score then that´s another problem. so it´s better to take it now..

I think in Canada you have the option to take the canadian version of the exam instead of IELTS..

and remember you have to wait 120 days to retake the exam if you don´t get enough score.

IELTS website to find test centers

www.ielts.org

If CIC asks for additional docs (i.e IELTS), then this will surely delay the process.

You can submit application now without it but taking the test at a sooner date is not a bad idea.

If you will decide to take the test, the score you are aiming for is 7 per subject to get the maximum points....good luck

Hi New grad,

You also have the option to appear in CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program). They have a test center in Toronto:

Seneca College at York Campus
Technology Enhanced Learning Building
Room 3078 - 88 The Pond Road
Toronto, ON

Dude sometimes they ask for IELTS scores. No one can know if they will ask you or not; however these days they can ask any one even if your mother tongue is English!
Good Luck

further more, not asking IELTS right now doesn´t mean they won´t ask IELTS after IA, or before PP

the wait period is 90 and not 120 days
