  Thanx for your reply.
This what I thought.
So u think it doesnt matter whatever title is written on my contract?
THere is NOC code for research assistant on CIC website 4122 but the duties mentioned under this code doesnt match completely to my duties. Duties mentioned under 2121 match more closely to my duties.
I m going to submit reprints of my article and proof of presentations I have been giving in international conferences.
You mentioned that your NOC code was different when you were working as research assistant. was your research assistant work experience counted as full time or part time? In my contract it is mentioned that I have been working as full time research assitant/PhD fellow 37hrs/week. So i hope that it will be ounted as full time.
Your right my MSc degree directly related to my work I am doing now.
My research topic was bladder cancer during my MSc degree. I have published one article from that data as well.
I would grealty appreciate your suggestions and comments

Thank you again for your guidance.

You are welcome. Iam sorry about the confusion about the NOC code being different, what I meant was that at the time of applying for immigration, my professional degree & job skills/experience was different and I had a diff. NOC code. Then after my first MS program in the US I fell under the 2121 NOC code, during the course of the prog. I used my TA as part time work exp. With regards to the RA position I worked for 40hrs/week and it was counted as full time. But this was not related to the University as I worked in a private lab for a while.

In your case the RA job is part of your PhD program, this is a little different but I dont see why it shouldn´t be counted towards your overall experience. Do include your monthly pay stubs, get the Human resources dept. to give you a letter and get your advisor to also give you a letter outlining your job duties and full time position. In the US there is a legal issue as students including post docs technically are only allowed to work 20hrs/week (but the truth is we work much more :-) )so its good to know that Canada is more flexible in that way. (Iam guessing you are in Canada or UK b´cos u said you completed an MSc program)Anyway good luck and do include in your appl. all that you mentioned above. You should get an interview waiver if everything is in order. Good luck!
