Hi guys i have one problem that i am seeking help. i am in US for 3 years now and on 2003 i was arrested for tresspassing and that time i didnot have enough fee to pay for the lawyer so i did that PTI thing and they asked me to do community service for 60 hours. Now i am applying for canadian immigration and when i got my police certificate that FBI finger prints thing..... my arrest record was there though i was not convicted but still i have this arrest record can any one tell me do i have to wait for 5 years then apply or do i have to get a lawyer writing to immigration officer that i was student i didnot have the money to pay for the lawyer thats why i did that pre trial intervention thing ( PTI)

i don´t think that your "student with no money" story will be understood by Immigration Officer.
I might be wrong, though.
I would wait for 5 years...
