Subject: Work Permit/ PR Urgent |

Hello,
I came to Canada in Aug 2003, for school, and graduated in Apr 2004. I then had a 1 year post graduate work permit, unfortunately, I did not apply for PR instead, I applied for a self employed work permit. It got rejected twice this year, and now I have to go back to my home country (India) because my father passed away. I am currently in Canada on a visitor´s extension which is valid till Dec 31 2005. Unfortunately, it is not a multiple entry visa and I havent even been able to go home and mourn my father´s death.
Please advice on what to do next, so I can go home and maintain some kind of status in Canada, so I can come back and hopefully apply for another work permit or PR...
Please advise, I have not much time left.
Ajeeth

(in reply to: Work Permit/ PR Urgent) If your work permit is up and you didn´t apply for PR, there isn´t anything you can do. They put limits on to stop students staying indefinitely! The only thing to do is apply to Buffalo like everyone else as a skilled worker and wait a few years, or come back again as a student. Or marry someone asap... in any case, you won´t be able to extend your visitor´s visa as it will look highly like you intend to live here permanently.
