| Subject: police certificates |
I am a little confused as to when to request the police certificates in the US. Are we suppose to wait until we are asked for them? Or is it better to request them right away?

for Buffalo, the USA certificates should ideally be sent with your application...

We applied Feb/05, AOR March/05. (Buffalo)
After seeing some of the other posts, I started to wonder about this. In Appendix B, Obtaining Police Certificates it states ´Do not request a police certificate from Hong Kong, the US or Canada until you are instructed to do so by a visa office.´
But it seems that other people have sent them in right away. So, now I am confused what to do.

Ideally , you should wait until you are asked to present the US police certificates . This will usually be done when you are sent your medical papers . Reason being US police certificates expire after 6 months .
