Hello,
I am an Indian citizen. I intend to apply for immigration to Cananda.Though my base is in India, I have been overseas on account of projects many a times. I have two questions - 1. What is the procedure to apply for Police Clearance Certificate? What are the documents needed for applying? Should I apply for it right away or few months after applying for immigration?
2. Do i need to apply for this Police clearance certificate from the country wherever I have visited ?

Hello, police will not clear you just like that. they need a reason to do the checks and clear you.
so wait for the letter from immigraton office that asks for clearance and only then the police can proceed. relax.
also, u need to get clearance from all places stayed for >6-months since u were 18 yrs.

You need PCC from every country you have lived in before you apply. The PCC has to be sent with the application at the time of applying unless you have been in the US, Canada, Hong Kong and some other countries ...where you don´t need a clearance at the time of applying but the immigration officer will ask for that later.

To get Police clearance from India you have to go to the regional passport office that has issued your passport. Fill in a form to get police clearance and put the reason as applying for Canadian immigration. It is better if you submit the PC along with the application.
2. Do i need to apply for this Police clearance certificate from the country wherever I have visited ?
You will need to get PC from every country you have lived in for more than 6 months. To get PC of another country from India contact the nearest embassy of that country in India and explain why you need PC.

PCC need not be submitted with the application. I did not and got my interview waived, and have now submitted the PCCs.

I am an Indian citizen and permanent resident of Canada since Dec.2000. I came to India last year to deliver child and since than I am here. Its been more than 6 months, now I am planning to go back to Canada, do I have to get Police Clearance Certificate from here?

NO as u are permanent resident of canada so do no not require if u are coming with in time frame

Good day,
I have applied for PR of Canada from within Canada and Immigration section of Canada is asking for PCC from India.
I am in Canada ,but hold a indian passport which was renewed by Consulate Genaral of India, Vancouver on 24/04/07 .
Where and how shall I apply for PCC ?
