Subject: Entery to Canada
  Hello,
May I ask a very important question? If a principle applicant gets an immigration visa with his spouse then is it necessary that they both enter Canada at the same time? Can the principle applicant enter before than spouse? What will happen if the spouse will be unable to enter Canada with her immigration visa on account of family problems and her visa will be expired. Will it affect the PR of principle applicant in any case? How can they reunite if the immigration visa of spouse is expired and she doesnot enter Canada with this visa as this visa is not extendable in any case.

Dear Shine,
I am not the expert but what I know is that you can enter before your spouse (if your a main applicant).
If your spouse is unable to enter before expiry of her visa then she will lose her PR status. So just kep in mind she can ONLY join you later as a PR if her visa is still valid. otherwise she will have to reapply all over again.

Good luck

WRONG! The dependant(s) of an applicant can only enter Canada AFTER the PRINCIPAL (not principle) applicant landed or at the same time:

"Accompanying dependents cannot land before the principal applicant has landed. The accompanying dependents should land with the principal applicant or after the principal applicant, but in either case prior to the expiry date indicated on their Canadian Immigrant Visas."

Hi Me
Please read my post carefully. This is what I meant.
"you can enter before your spouse (if your a main applicant)".

Read YOU CAN ENTER BEFORE YOUR SPOUSE IF YOU ARE A MAIN APPLICANT. It means his wife is a dependent.

to avoid such arguments, better if you think and type simply and carefully...especially in elaborating matters....

1. PRINCIPAL APPLICANTS- must enter/land Canada before the visa expiry
2. DEPENDENTS (

to avoid such arguments, better if you think and type simply and carefully...especially in elaborating matters....

1. PRINCIPAL APPLICANTS- must enter/land Canada before the visa expiry (but still can extend for reasons such death, divorce etc..if approved)
2. DEPENDENTS(spouse, children)-must also land Canada before the visa expiry with or without the principal applicant.

In any cases: filing for visa extention for important/emergency reasons is suggested before the expiry date..or in situations, re-application is needed.
