Subject: Canada Government fails the no confidence
  Folks,
The present government has failed no confidence in parliament which mean a new goverment and new immigration minister also comes in .
So I think all the immigration rules might change. It is a rule by CIC that we have to satisfy the requirement while the time of application as well as issuance of visa. So the points may go up , new conditions may come up. It is scary .
So a sincere advise - Dont plan things things until the Canadian PR visa is stamped on your passport. You will get the biggest shock in life.
Syd

Interesting news. I wonder what the liberals/Paul Martins chances are in winning the winter campaign.

STOP right now! Syd, you are causing fear for absolutely no reason.

Immigration rules will not change until a bill is tabled, debated and passed in the legislature. The first chance that could happen - March at the earliest. The chances of ANY immigration legislation being put forward at that moment - zero. Contrary to our popular opinion, immigration is not the centre of the Canadian political universe.

None of the parties wanting power have indicated any desire to make sweeping changes to immigration policy so it would be waaaaaay down the list. The Liberals have a good chance of forming a minority government again... in which case, nothing would change (sadly).

PLEASE RELAX

Thanks a lot Sharon. Let´s not start rummors and fears! They had changed the Immigration minister earlier this year, if you remember, and this Volpe guy didn´t change anything. So let´s not jump into conclusions before canadians actually vote in mid january 2006.

Well,
I you are ready to take the risk you can apply. One thing I am sure is that you have satisfy the points and requirements at the time of application time as well as at the time of issuance of visa and assessment. I mean , there is lock indate for points

go ahead and apply as soon as possible and then continue to improve your points and to update CIC. There is no point waiting for something that might/not happen.
