Can anybody tell me if I can add my spouse and a child to an existing application waiting for IA?
If yes - what should I do ?

yes you can add them.
if you have submitted your application yourself then you should not be asking this question.
Anyways visit the CIC website of your processing center and fill the appropriate forms and send them with the rest of the requirements and ask to add your dependants.
