Subject: Employment Status - part 2
Could someone address Sara´s question from previous post, below? This is regarding how CIC views Skilled Worker applicants who resign or are unemployed for whatever reason during the decision process.

"If employment status is not important, then why do they ask for current employment letter as addition doc after IA?"

Technically, your work experience for the past 10 years is what´s being considered. I also cannot see any rule that an applicant has to be currently employed in order to be approved. However, immigration matters are basically judged by the immigration officers. There maybe some officers who give weight to it, some don´t care at all....hey I am guessing here...because technically as long as your experience is within the past 10 years then you should be okay.

Let me share my personal experience. I was already unemployed when I submitted my application but I have more than 4 years of experience in my chosen field...about 15 years. My unemployment was the reason I was called for interview. During the interview I was already employed in a different field.

If resigning is a matter of life and death, then go ahead resign if that is what you think the situation is calling for. But if you can stay in for a little bit longer, why not? If it´s not very complicated, then I would wait till the IA comes.

good luck
