I want to sponsor my husband. In order to file the application I need the police certificate from the Sri lankan government. How do I get a police report for my husband who is in Canada. He is a Sri Lankan born US citizen currently in Canada on work visa.

I happened to read that you could contact your nearest srilankan embassy /consulate if you are a non resident to get the police ceritificate from srilanka

Apply within Canada or outside (in reply to: police report for sponsor)
I am a US citizen currently working in Canada on a temporary work visa. My wife is a Canadian citizen and she likes to sponsor me. Can she sponsor me while I am in Canada on a temporary work visa? I see there are 2 ways to apply (apply within Canada or outside) which is faster? Does anyone know the processing time and the stages/steps?

when people are saying that the cic has to do background check.
in general what they look for?
if you have already submited all the original documents of your education you police check. do they have to verify if it was not fake? i donnt know. explaim me please what they are going to do as background check. are they going to check every thing in your country where you come from? how they can handle that?
