Subject: Interview in the U.S.
  Hi all,

I was notified my interview date which will come this month.
I applied for PR as skilled worker, and mailed my application to Baffalo.

I was asked to bring all ORIGINAL credentials (not transcripts) to the interview.

Does anybody know whether I must submit my all original credentials to an interviewer, or just showing my original credentials to the interviewer?

It´s hard to get my original credentials again from my university in my home country once I submit them to the interviewer, not like transcripts.
If somebody knows about it, could you share your experience.

My timeline:
File number: Jan, 2004
IA: Oct, 2004
Additional documents: Apr, 2005

I know its hard to answer all questions here... and some are so basic...
anyways... What I can suggest is that if you have original documents... carry it along with you make sure you make a copy of them and possible notorized or certified true copy.

You can show the originals to the consul and then ask them to keep the copies... In most of the cases they will be okey... I just sent them the notorized and it was fine... But then I didnt have the interview...

You can give it a try...

Let the expert speak about it...

Hi Skilled Worker....,

You will have to show the original documents during the interview so that the immigration official can verify its authenticity. You should take original degree as well as transcripts to the interview.

The original documents will be returned to you after the interview. You can take a photocopy of the documents just in case the immigration official wants it.

Do you know the location of your interview? I have been asked to appear for the interview in New York on the 7th of Feb 2006.

Thank you HS & Kenny for your quick responses.

I´m sure I´ll bring originals.

Kenny, would you say just copies of originals would be fine, not notarized copies of originals?

One more thing I´d like to ask, please.
I have my original credentials written in English and issued by my university. Are these enough as my ORIGINAL credentials?

I mean, my very original credentials are originally issued with my mother tongue, not English. Is this what I´m asked to bring?
The reason why I´m asking this is that, if yes, I´ll have to get these credentials translated to English. However, it might not get done before my interview. I´ve just recieved those documents today from my home country.

Kenny, my interview location is Seattle. I´ve been reading your postings here. I hope everything will be O.K. with your interview.

Carry all the original documents with you for the interview. The immigration official can verify the photocopy with the originals at the interview so you do not need to notarize them.

Any original document that is not in english (or french) MUST be translated to english.

Steve & Kenny

Thanks again for your inputs.
It´s clear now.
I´ll arrange to get a certified translator for some more credential related documents.
