What is the best way to get started with procedures for immigrating to Canada from the United States? What are the chances if someone has dui charges? any info would be appreciated

If you are looking at immigrating to Canada from the USA, you could first start by looking at the Buffalo checklist:

As for your conviction, it really depends on when it happened and the sentence imposed. You might be obliged to apply for criminal rehabilitation. Details can be found there:
