Subject: ASAP: Address change
I applied in SW cat in MAY 2004 @ BUFFALO. I was in USA on H1B. When applied I provided USA address. I send my Medical, PCC, RPRF and required documents in MAR 2005. My H1B status expired MAY 2005 and I am back to my home country. Now I am waiting for PP request.

Currently I have provided my USA friends address as correspondence address. I am highly skilled worker, so no problem to get job in CANADA or USA.

Please advice me, will it affect on my application processing time if I change my address now?

Not sure if it would affect the processing time. But I would rather wait for the PPR letter arrive at your friend´s address. Then have your passport send it to your friend (I heard that you cannot mail them - should be sent through someone). Then your friend can send it to Buffalo. He should also send it back to you through someone.

I am not 100% on this..you may want to double check.

Hi Zzzzz,

Dont change your address now. Like George Philip mentioned wait to get the passport request. You will have to send your passports to your friend in USA and then your friend will have to mail them to Buffalo to get the visa stamped. When your friend gets the passport back from Buffalo s/he can mail the passport back to you.

But please check if it is legal to mail your passport from your home country to USA. In some cases you may have to take to take permission from the relevant government official to mail your passport out of the country.
