Subject: HELP ----> Sharon
  Hi Guys,

I applied for Permanent Resident (Skilled worker) with my common-law partner last year and have received my AOR early this year. 3 months ago, I married my common-law partner.

I sent a fax to the embassy informing them of my status change and inquired for the necessary documents for me to update our application.

A few weeks later, I received a mail containing a list of forms for me to fill-up and update our application as well as a list of requirements for me to submit. These are:

1)documentary proof of our relationship (as common-law) like photos, greeting cards, letters, etc)

2)NSO Certificate of No Previous Marriage for myself and my partner

3)Employment certifications with detailed duties and responsibilities

4)Processing fee for my common law partner (CAD $550)

5) Academic credentials (transcript of records, diploma) of my common-law partner.

This is confusing because I have already included numbers 1,3,4,5 when I submitted our application last year and I doubt if NSO (National Statistics Office) can provide us with #2 as we are already ?Married? in their records (Certificate of No Previous Marriage are for individuals with ?Single? status).

Please advice my appropriate action. Can the embassy answer my inquiries if I give them a call?

I advise you to fax a letter to the embassy with you signature. I suggest sending it multiple times until the embassy responds.

My experience with calling the embassy is not so pleasant. I got transferred by a voice message that tells me that if I continue, I will be charged with this and that rate.

Sharon,

I would definitely like to know how having a bf who has already been refused a skilled worker visa, and has re-applied makes you an expert here. I would think that your advice on how others should conduct their applications would be the last thing this forum needs.

well Steve, you might want to get your facts straight. Nobody got refused a SW application. I will not be baited into given the reasons we were forced to start again- all it would do is scare people.

You will find most of my posts do not discuss what people should do unless it is simply common sense. My posts are about Canada and what people might find when they get here.

You, however, after 3 months in the sponsorship system, have concluded you are an expert. You advise people to withdraw applications, you tell people exactly how long they are going to have to wait. Not just in one forum... it has become your full time job.

Hiding behind ´anonymous´ is a real joke.

Nice try Stevo.

How´s your student visa obligations holding up these days? Seems to me you should be spending more time in class fulfilling those obligations and less time on the internet pretending to be an immigration consultant.
