Hi All,
I wonder if I can have a friend of mine who is Canadian can apply for my CAIPS file? What procedures should we do and how much does it gonna cost?

For those applicants who are already living in Canada, you can directly obtain CAIPS notes. Complete the form TBC 350-57 found here

For the federal govt institution, write CIC. Next field provide your immigration file number and mention that you want to obtain CAIPS notes. Complete the rest of the form and along with a $5 money order mail to

If your friend is obtaining the notes on your behalf write a cover letter saying that you authorise him to get the information on your behalf. Your friend will have to provide proof of his residence in canada e.g. copy of his PR card or passport.

But have tried that? Actually I´m not in Canada but my friend is Canadian and he is in B.C. So you think it is that easy?

I am also not in Canada and a friend of mine in Canada has applied for CAIPS notes on my behalf. Its pretty simple and costs $5 + postage for sending signed forms from your country of residence to Canada + postage for getting the notes from Canada to you.

So do u think I should fill in the form and the authorization for my Canadian friend and 5$ and mail that to the address u tole me about? or tell my friend in Canada to do so by him self after I give him my File# and all my details?

i want to apply for caipes notes.i have a problemin filling this form.I am authorising somebody to apply for me from Canada As i live in Pakistan.
1.Requesters ref.no.(which no. is this
2.Public rights addmission file no.(i dont know about this too)
3.Visa file no.?
4.should i apply for caips notes only?or the visa file too
