Subject: Landing very soon. Please advise |

I´ve been living with my Thai wife in Bangkok. She got her permanent resident visa, and we´re flying back to my home, Vancouver, on December 19. Soon!
When we arrive, what will immigration require from us? Obviously her passport, with the visa, and the COPR letter, but what else? Are birth certificates
and house registries mandatory? Marriage Certificate? We don´t have English translations handy, would the Thai be acceptable? Or a not-notarized photocopy
of the English version? Does she have to show proof of funds, even though she has been sponsored by me? The CIC website mentioned proof of funds
( at landing ) but didn´t specify if a sponsorship case was exempt.
Next up: the B4-05E form. Do they prefer it or a typewritten list? How detailed must we get?
Finally, I´ve been out of Canada for 9 months. I am a naturalized citizen. Will my Canadian passport and proof of citizenship be enough? My concern is
that my residential address is currently leased to tenants until April 1 2006. So we don´t have a fixed address per se, will be making temporary arrangements.
Sorry about the barrage of questions. Thankyou in advance for any expert advice. This forum has been a great help to us and I wish everyone luck.

(in reply to: Landing very soon. Please advise) Well done mate hey by the way i am going over vancouver as well hope to see you there as well .... Well I do not think immigration officer will ask for anything else except for her pasport but later- to be used in the future please have all her diplomas, transcritps, birth certificates, and have them all translated over there becasue such things I guess more expensive in Canada... Well good luck and a happy life in vancouver ...

(in reply to: Landing very soon. Please advise) Thanks folks. Breathing a little easier now! Sunshine, you´re right about translations. But I think we´ve left it too late.
I´ve checked those links before and they´re good, but they don´t touch on sponsorship cases. I mean I´m under the impression now that proof of funds won´t be necessary. Still good perusing.
all the best
