Once you get the Canadian PR, how soon will you be eligible for application for citizenship ?
Assumption: From the day one lands in Canada, he/she does not leave Canada.
Also once you apply for citizenship how long does it take on an average ? Is that also dependent on nationality ?
Thanks

(in reply to: Road to citizenship) You need to stay in Canada or work for a Canadian company overseas for 1095 days in the last 5 years to be eligible to apply for citizenship.

(in reply to: Road to citizenship) You must have lived in Canada for at least three years out of the four years immediately preceding your application for citizenship.

Currently, the total processing time for a routine application for citizenship is approximately 15?18 months.

(in reply to: Road to citizenship) No Departure bay. That is wrong. It does count half but to a maximum of one year. So even you live here for 5 years it still counts as one year.

(in reply to: Road to citizenship) Great, thanks for your help guys !
But once you have applied for the citizenship, do you still have to reside in Canada till you get the citizenship ? (Kenny, you had mentioned 3 yrs out of 5 preceding to the application, so I had the above doubt.)
