Subject: India Police clearence.
I have sent FBI clearence(fingerprints)more than a month back, now I have recd. a notice asking for police clearence from my home town in India.

1. Do i need to provide that or is it an error! Shouldn´t I be providing the recent clearnce only.
2. I have no plans of going to India, how do I get it. All my family is here.
3. Someone tells me that Indian consulates in US can get that for me. Is it true! Why would they do that! Do they charge big fees!
4. funny thing is notice asks me to get the clearence within next two weeks! How do i swing it.

Please advise folks. God Bless You.

Yes, you need to get the PCC from India if you lived in India since 18 years of age.

Yes, you may get it thru Indian Consulate General. CGI says it will take 30-35 days, but I got the PCC cleared in 2 weeks. The fees to get the Indian PCC thru CGI is USD $20. They would send the details to Indian officials and will get the PCC.

Just inform CIC that you will be sending the Indian PCC ASAP.

Visit the CGI website and locate the Consulate that serves your area.
