Subject: IELTS request
Hi all. I just received my IELTS request. A TOTAL bummer! The worst thing to happen before Christmas. It´s a lesson to everyone. No matter how proficient you beleive you are in English, just go and do your test. I guess it´s better than a full fledged rejection letter. Anyway, here are my deats. App Nov 04, AOR Mar 05. IELTS request Dec 05.

The worst thing is the IELTS website isn´t even working so Im super frustrated right now. Anyway, cheers to all and Merry Christmas!

CIC only gave me 90 days until they got the result. Mine was taken July05 (1 mo after got my AOR). Just try to make an appointment as soon as you can. Get all 7 band avrg to get 16 points in your English. Just be prepared by listening to BBC or English movie alot. It helped me indeed. In speaking (interview with IELTS officer), just try not to talk about something that you don´t really know (not even a bit, don´t even try to talk shitty) cause she/he will ask you alot further than you ever think and you could be dead!

GOOD LUCK CANDICE, merry xmas.

Thanks for your good wishes. Hope I get the first appointment which is Feb 11. Will be sending off my application on the 27th. Everything is closed until then.

alx:

You must respond to CIC within the 120 days given (as per the visa officer´s letter). If not, your application may be rejected, and file closed.

So sorry to hear about your case Candice. I applied in Feb 05, AOR Mar 29, 2005. I got an IELTS request in Aug 2005, and sent it in by Nov 2005. I´m expecting my IA by Mar 2006.

no, file won´t close, language scores will only be determined by officers. It says so in the manual.

Hey Candice keep up the faith and hope, things will work out for you, I applied at buffalo for SW on Nov 1st week of 2004, got my AOR third week of feb 05, I had already sent in my IELTS although they didnt ask me for it just after AOR around May 05, I got my IA Nov 2nd week of 05 and they dont need any more documents and my interview is waived and they want to finalize my application, I just got done my medicals last week and has been mailed to Ottawa, so im waiting for my PPR. I think IELTS is critical to getting an interview waiver
