  Can anybody help with this

my application was priliminary approved in Septemper 2001 and I was asked to do the medical exams then, since then everytime I contact the Canadian consulate in Buffalo they answer me that they are waiting for background check. it´s been more than 3 years and last month they told me they are waiting for my spouse background check. Last year they asked me to do the medical exams again because the first one expired. is there any reason for doing that? is it really background check or it is just another way for rejecting my application after they accepted it? please anybody came across such case can help with that?

Have you ordered CAIPS Notes? what did it say there? Mine says FOSS, the lawyer told me that is background check.

I applied in Nov 2001 to Buffalo, and still waiting, no medicals yet.

How do you contact Buffalo? Did you fax them and they reply? I faxed them many times and never got an answer.

Let´s help each other know about what happens there.

Thanks. Did they sent your email or call you, or fax back to you when they reply? I am wondering since I used to fax them a lot of inquires and never get any response, later I stopped sending inquiries since I know I am not get any response.

In your case, I think what you can do is just wait, wait, till the visa comes. Just hold on in the states as long as possible.

I´ve heard someone applied in Hong Kong in 1999 and still waiting. Try to be patient. We are just unlucky at this stage. I am wondering why your background checking take so long? Is that because you have stayed in a lot of different countries? your nationality is from some country where CIC pays special attention to? or have you worked in some sensitive place as army, government?

Also I heard for a lot of single people, background checking is only 2-3 month.

As in my case, since I got divorced during the application, and I´m losing 5 points for divorce, maybe that takes some time for them to figure out.

CAIPS note/ M03 (in reply to: delayed application)
Hello everyone,
Can anyone help me:
I just received may CAIPS note.
My Medical stage is M01 and I am the main applicant.
My spouse Medical stage is M03.
Dose it mean my spouse failed and I passed?
Dose the case refused for this or we can do a new medical examination?
Thanks,
Armin
