Subject: What is Next ?
  Hello Everyone,

I applied in jan and current status is showing ?we stated processing your request on march 24, 2005?

In June I got request for IELTS ( is that consider IA ??) as seats were not available in NY I send them score in late November. Although they needed score in 120 days but I requested extension via email which they granted.

Now, IELTS score is with them. What do I expect next?

Thanks

either a notice for an interview, a request for additional documents or a letter indicating you have complete IA and you need to have your medical tests done and send in your Landing fees. CIC will still need to conduct an independent background check before they can complete your application. how long this takes depends on the embassy where you applied and your country of origin.

hope this helps

you will not get confirmations by email. it has only been 1 month since you sent your IELTS. I doubt that you will get any confirmation of receipt but e-client might have some form of update - don´t panic if it does not, it is very unreliable.

I would encourage you to send future documents to Buffalo by double registered mail or courier. That way you can be certain they arrive and you can rest easy.

Hi CD,

Your AOR is March 2005 and got an IELTS request in June 2005, then you are one lucky fellow. If you included your file number (and ideally a cover letter) with your IELTS score, then your score would be properly recorded. Did you mail it with a tracking number? If yes then you should not worry about it.

What you got I believe is not an IA yet. Your IA should include an info about your interview: whether waived or not. Also since you applied in Buffalo, your IA will come with your medical documents.

What´s next:
a. IA - you´re waiting for it now
b. Interview - if not waived, your file will have to be transferred to either NY, Detroit, or LA...this really takes months (a year?)...after file being transferred, it will take months again before you can have an interview date...so you see interview waiver will really save you at least a year of waiting
c. Medicals - can be done immediately upon interview waiver, otherwise you need to wait for an interview date before doing the medicals.
d. Attend interview (if applicable)
e. Submission of requested docs (updates of funds, pCC etc)etc); payment of landing fee (can be done anytime during the process).
f. All the rest of the process is beyond your control like background check etc.
e. Passport request - the most awaited letter of all :), submit your passport for stamping then your set.

good luck

Basically you will need to submit most of what you have submitted for yourself:

* Cover letter about adding your wife (make sure to quote your file number) :)
* Fill up applicable forms (I think Background Declaration and Additional Family Information)
* Acceptable form of payment for CAD 550
* Landing fee of CAD 975 (can be later)
* Copy of Marriage cert
* Copies of wife´s docs like birth cert, passport, police clearance (orig), education (this can add points too), photos
* If she´s in the US and not a citizen, a copy of docs stating legal admission (H4 or H1B etc)

I might have missed some, please double check with cic website.

good luck

yes, after submitting all the wife´s docs/forms/fee, CIC will give you medical papers for her so she can do her meds.

I think she should do her meds with the same doctor that did your meds (not so sure here).
