I have a physically handicapped brother who has been working with GE in India for the past 2 years. I want to sponsor him for permanent residency in Canada. Will they reject his application on medical grounds ? He has difficulty in walking however he is very independant and goes to work himself. He is a very integral part of my life and I cannot leave him in India. Please help..

Humanitarian and Compassionate cases (in reply to: phyiscally handicapped brother) Hi.
In some cases, you can sponsor a sibling, and in some cases you can sponsor a family member whose medical needs are excessive, but a variety of criteria must be met in all cases. Check out http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/family.html for some information of general sponsorship, as well as Overseas Processing Manual Chapter 2 and 4 (http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/op02e.pdf and http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/op04e.pdf).
If you have the money, and you think you meet the criteria, I strongly suggest that you consider professional assistance with this case.
Good luck.
Sincerely,
Dennis Caul
