Well, Sharon, I don´t know if u ever visited an Arab country or not?? I´m pretty sure u will feel respected hundred times than in your home country. Yesterday, I was out with some American friends and streets in my city are very busy to the extent that u can´t cross the street at all especially for forigners who never used to that, the police officer stopped a high way road just to let my American freinds cross the road. I then told them taht this would not happen any where in the world. BTW, they didn´t ask him to do so but when he noticed that they r having problems corssing the road he did it.

It is out nature when u have guest you never say no to him for any reason. When we were childs, our grandparents used to tell us stories like your grand father was a poor man and he had a guest and he had a guest and he did slaughter the caw that our family count on just to make lunch to him. coz He can´t let his guest go without a great lunch.

I am told that tourists are treated like gold because they bring money to the economy. the story is very different when you look internally.

When a kid goes to school, it wants acceptance amongst peers, in many cases it will do crazy things even go against parents and rebel just to make himself/herself look good infront of his friends - This is the perfect analogy for imported racism, and in this case the parents are being blamed for it.

yes, parents are responsible for what they teach their children. the good stuff and the bad stuff. Peer approval and peer pressure should not be enough to cause a boy to be beaten to death because he is Phillipino.

The Phillipino being beaten does not do justice to our discussion. Your statements are very lofty at times. Who beat him to death ? Whites or non-whites ?
Nothing against whites, but if the latter was true then its imported racism else its racism in its pure form. Maybe it was a good thing that you killed the Phillipino, we wouldn´t have been able to differentiate between the flavors of racism, would we ?

in the situation that I mention, the courts determine it was a hate crime and the perpetrators were non-white. Racism is racism.

I don´t understand your reference to pure. I also do not understand your last comment - probably better I don´t.

I suggest we leave this discussion alone.

Yes, leave it alone but, colored people when they go to white countrise as tourists are not treated like gold, despite they pay money as well even more than white but the problem is that they pay money and yet they r treted like coal.

Just leave this discussion alone.

Romantic Warrior... I don´t believe you can make your statement as a blanket truth. The world is a big place. Your statements are very inflamatory - almost angry.

You are a man of colour that wishes to make Canada home. If Canada is such a racist place... why would you chose us as your home? I am confused.

In the city where I live, I am the racial minority. so what! I have been treated very well by many ´non-white´ people in my community. I have also been treated like lowly dirt because I an not of asian decent and do not speak the language. I am sure the same is true in reverse. People are racist - not countries.

RW...You are very quick to point the racist finger yet you have made a personal issue of my name. I understand it, I tolerate it... but my friend... in Canada it would still be considered racist. I don´t think we can begin to understand the prejudice we carry with us- perhaps unknowingly.

Like I said earlier... this is probably not a good subject for this forum.
