Subject: $975 landing fee to be scrapped |
... or so says the Prime Minister.
See http://immigrationguides.com
I personally think there´s a snowball´s chance in the Western Sahara of it actually happening.

(in reply to: $975 landing fee to be scrapped) well said. as you can well imagine...typo... my political slant would suggest shameless vote buying considering Martin Announced it in a very asian community where he also just said a few days back that the government would not apologize or compensate Asian immigrants who were subjected to a head tax.
I will be so glad when all this nonsense is over and we can get back to general corruption.

(in reply to: $975 landing fee to be scrapped) I´m actually getting a little mad at both the major parties right now, not because of the false promises that have been flowing non-stop, but because of the way they are trying to make political capital from the Boxing Day shooting of the 15-year-old girl in downtown TO.
To my mind at least, that was crossing a line. 52 murders in the year and no one´s bothered. One in the middle of a campaign and everyone´s falling over themselves to *do* something.

(in reply to: $975 landing fee to be scrapped) Personaly I don´t mind to pay even more than $975, as long as immigration system can be improved in the future.
My piece of shit car´s annual insurance is more than that.

(in reply to: $975 landing fee to be scrapped) Maybe, DB, but for a typical immigrant family of four, that´s a pretty significant chunk of change. It´s something they could live on for the first 2-3 months in Canada.

(in reply to: $975 landing fee to be scrapped) sorry typo, not try to discourage you, family of four can´t live on 3k/month expense, no matter where do you live in Canada.
