I received a letter yesterday from detroit and they requested Police Clearance from me. While i have submitted my recent Police Clearance on November8th, 2005. The tracking no. verifies that they have received the clearance but they said in their letter that they havent received any thing. What should i do now?

Hi Steve,
That happened with me too. I would say that that you are lucky .You submitted your pcc in Nov and just after two months they are asking for it again. I had submitted my pcc last year (oct´04) and received a letter in July(´05) asking me to resubmit it.
So without delay submit the same again.

Steve, when you submitted it, did you address it to the officer that interviewed you? Did you retain a copy?
Is the police clearance that you submitted the ´national´ one or the ´local´ one? I am asking this because they also asked me before to submit a ´national´ police clearance because the one I submitted was a local one (regional only). It should be issued by the authority equivalent to FBI of the USA.
my suggestion:
Send a very polite email telling them that you submitted your most recent police clearance last Nov. Also tell them that you just received today a request to submit a police clearance. Now, ask them politely if this means your police clearance did not reach them or do you really need to submit another one? Do not forget to thank them endlessly :).
However, do not wait for too long for their reply. If it´s taking forever, go ahead and request for a new one.

Thanks Joe for your detailed reply. I have already applied for a new clearance and the same time i have asked my lawyer to communicate with visa office and provide them the tracking no. that certifies that i have sent them the clearance. Actually in my country there is no such National or Regional Clearance, they get information from all the addresses where you have lived thats why you may call it a national police clearance. I hope as soon as i send them the clearance i will be getting the good news because early 2006 has brough good news for many of the applicants. Ok Steve. Don´t take chance. Be positive and don´e waste time. Start getting a new police certificate bexause it takes time. At the same time fax to CIC your tracing information along with a nice letter that you send them the police letter on so and so date. Also please let them know that you have also started the process again too.
Steve this is immigration- don´t waste time and remember be positive.
