No, I have not applied for a GC in US. The long processing times are one reason I ma moving to canada.

Same Boat (in reply to: Move to canada and lose your H-1, part 2) We are in the same boat ..... I suggest get the Canada PR and get the Citizenship after 3 or more years ...
Then decide on going back to the U.S. or not .. at least by then ... you can always go back to Canada ..

But on 2nd thoughts its actually a pain (in my opinion) to work in US being a Canadian citizen, I think one might be better off in Canada after a few initial struggling years. If in US, then you have to keep renewing the TN-1 visa or whatever every year and you have complicated tax issues etc etc, and to think of it, its just a different form of unlimited H1B visa in the end, what do you say ?
