I am a newly Landed Immigrant. I received my Permanent Resident card in less than three weeks after landing although I am yet to receive my SIN card. I am currently in my fourth week. I would like to enquire from knowledgable people on this forum as to whether I could travel out of the country immediately upon receipt of my SIN card or there is a "waiting"period. Are there some restrictions as far as traveling outside Canada is concerned especially when one´s services are required by a Canadian company outside of Canada? Any info/advice will be readily appreciated. Kenny, your input too would be very much welcomed.

(in reply to: Traveling out of Canada after Landing) Hi Jade,
You can travel whenever you want to, there is no restriction.

Its not the SIN card that you should worried about, but rather it is your PR Card that should have before venturing out of Canada. You need a PR Card to re-enter.

(in reply to: Traveling out of Canada after Landing) Hello Jade,
I think there?s no problem, you just need your PR card to return, and to comply with the resident obligations which the most important is to 2 years physicaly present in Canada in any 5 year period, but if you are working in a canadian company outside of Canada it counts as if time spent in Canada.
