Subject: Family Class sponsorship - Sponsoring brother
Does sponsoring brother falls under family class immigration sponsorship? Can I sponsor my brother to come to Canada? How?

You cannot sponsor your brother. You can only sponsor your parents and he will then be their dependent, as long as he is unmarried and under 22 (or if 22 or older then full time student since before turning 22).

BUT you have the option of sponsoring "one relative" (your brother) under the condition that you (the sponsor) do not have a spouse, a common-law partner, a conjugal partner, a child, a mother or father, a relative who is a child of that mother or father, a relative who is a child of a child of that mother or father, a mother or father of that mother or father or a relative who is a child of the mother or father of that mother or father (i) who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or (ii) whose application to enter and remain in Canada as a permanent resident the sponsor may otherwise sponsor.

In regards to this problem, will the following step-by-step stategy work?

1. Start up a business.
2. Pay income tax regularly.
3. For business help, Sponsor your brother.
