Subject: Good news for March 2005 AOR's
  Hi all,
I got the brown envelope yesterday and it had IA written all over it.

My time line:
App: Dec 2004
AOR: Mar 2005
IA : Jan 2006

They have asked me to get the medicals done within 60 days and need the Police clearance certificates (USA and India) within 90 days.

My questions:

1. How much will it cost (approx. in USD) for the medicals for me and my wife in the US. Also, if I don´t have records of vaccination, do I have to get vaccinated again ? (Bummer)
2. Will I be able to get any kind of record from the Doctor regarding my medicals for future use (like vaccination records etc, if taken)

3. How long does PCC take from the Indian Consulate in New York ? Any timeline is appreciated.
4. Can I go to my nearest police station and get my fingerprinting done showing them the request from Canadian Govt. ?

Thanks a bunch in advance for your help,
Raj.

Is this for the FBI clearance?? ... coz I remember for the police clearance i only got like a paper stating no crime whatsoever ... on the Police County...

But if you need it for the FBI ... you could also go to a authorized fingerprinting agency ... usually they have a notary too ... which i´m sure is required ..

But if your police station is not that busy ... you can also go there .... but most police stations are busy with ... license violation and trials ... and stuff ..

my two cents worth ...

Question .. what about those Immunization records ... i don´t have that too...

Good idea boki, I never check my e-client, but I did today. The AOR date is March 6th.

Jowsie,
Yes its for FBI. They have given some instructions on the form, does it really take 6 weeks for the results to come in ?

I have no idea abt immunization, but I sure hope I don´t have to get it done. If I have to then I hope they can give me a copy as I will need it for US to if necessary.

1. Medical cost is different from one doctor to another and from one state to another. I sugget you take a look at the DMP list and narrow down your choices. If money is not a problem for you, you can go to the nearest DMP but if you want to save some hundred dollars, you can try canvassing. Here´s a link to the DMPs in the USA.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/dmp/usa.html

2. I don´t remember needing the immunization records but better ask the DMP of your choice first before going there.

3. no help from me here...sorry

4. USA fingerprinting (FBI?)...not all police stations have the FBI fingerprinting card, better call them first.

Here´s the FBI link regarding doc requirements, cover letter, payment, address to mail it to etc. Also, this link has a sample of the FBI fingerprinting card so you´ll have an idea how it looks like.

One tip though: in your cover letter, put a deadline date...say about 3 weeks upon submission of the fingerprinted card...there´s a big chance you´ll get the report in 2 weeks more or less. Also, write this deadline date on the mailing envelope.

Also, you can choose to have your fingerprinting done by a private investigating company if you don´t mind the extra cost.

good luck

Sam,
I fall under NY, so will be going for NY consulate.

Did you do your medicals ? If yes, Did they ask your vaccination records ? If yes, did you have the records ? If No, did you have to do it again ? If yes, then how much did it cost ?
