Speeding up application (in reply to: Canadian High Commission in London, UK)
Thanks for the info Sharon.

Don´t suppose you know of any way to speed it up on compassionate grounds? ie my fiance and her daughter are in Canada. 16-33 months not seeing them ... yikes.

Hi Fred,

There is no way you can speed up your application for skilled worker immigration.

One way you can significantly reduced your timelime to immigrate is to marry your fiance and let her sponsor you as her spouse. Just a suggestion.

I think you can come for a VISIT as a UK citizen without a visa.

Complaint (in reply to: Canadian High Commission in London, UK)
Dear High Commission:

My husband, our children and I emigrated to canada last July. We obtained our immigration status due to my husband´s skill as a HGV class one driving license and his qualifications as a plumber. I have many qualifications, icluding a hairdressing qualification and an LLB law degree.

However upon arriving in Canada we were informned that my husband could not keep his heavy goods licence and if he wished to pursue a plumbing career he would have to requalify. I was informed that to work as a hairdressser I would have to requalify and to pursue my new career as a lawyer, using my LLB law degree, I would have to redo my law degree. this is ludicrous. We should have been informed of this during our immigration process as this would have deterred us.

The irony is Canada wants individuals with qualifications so that in the event of unemployment the Canadian benefit system is not drained and yet Canda creates situations that could drain the benefit system.

Therefre the Canadian way of life is not a better life if Canada insists oin crushing people´s livelihoods.

I would be grateful for a reply and you views on this matter.

Sincerely,

Lesley Taafe.
