Anyone knows how long is given to finish the landing process?

From what I read in some posts in this forum and else where as well, you need to land prior to your medicals expiry date. But I´m not sure for the cases, where the medicals are already expired and CIC had to extend the expiry date.

Generally, landing date expires 1 year from the date of medicals. But I heard that for some people got their medicals extended beyond 1 year so this could be different for such cases.

If your medicals are extended, it is mostly for a period of 6 months beyond the original expiry date (which is 1 year from the date of medicals). However, one person posted that his/her medicals were extended for another full year (not very common). So, the deadline for landing depends on the new date of expiry of medicals (unless the passport expires sooner, in which case it is the date of passport expiry).

I have not heard of medicals being extended more than once and usually the CIC requires you to get fresh medicals done if your case is still being processed after the extended medicals expire.
