| Subject: need Police clearance for US while in India. how? |

I need your help. Pleaseeeeeeeeee.
We live in India. HAve posted our Passports also,( to CIC, New delhi. )
Since my husband was in US for 2-3 years on student visa, today, I have been asked to submit police clearance certificate and FBI certificate. But we live in India. What shall we do?
Since passports are with CIC, delhi, can it be a problem for obtaining certificates?
Shall we visit US embassy here in India. Or shall we contact and ask my brother-in-law staying in US to apply for us?
And in the letter it is asked "your state police certificate and FBI certificate". I am the principal applicant and I have never been to US. So hopefully I am not supposed to apply anything for me. I know this is a silly question, but cannot take risks. I am already annoyed at CIC, after interview, medicals, rolf, ppr, they are asking all this now, which they could have asked before also
Please suggest the best possible way
And how can we get fingerprinting (one of the requirement, I found on net) done, since we stay here
Pleaseeeeeeeeeee send advice. I don´t want my case to delay for too long period, it´s already >5.5 years

Download the FBI fingerprint forms from their web site. Complete them as the instructions indicate (have a few practice copies as fingerprinting is not as easy as it looks). Send them to the FBI with a copy of your passport and money order. That is what I did from Japan. It took two months.

I had my FBI clearances sitting in India (in reply to: need Police clearance for US while in India. how?)
Madam, I had stayed in United States for 4 1/2 years and returned to India in 2003 Sept. CIC Delhi asked similarly for FBI clearances for me and my wife. In case, you can call me on my mobile #98666 20160 (hyd number) I will explain how to go about this in a fast track manner. In normal course it takes about 55 - 65 days to receive back the reports.
