Subject: Employment letters
  Hi

I´m applying as a skilled worker, but have problems with some of my previous employers.

One company closed their businesses years ago and cannot be located. Will such an excuse be considered especially considering that I left the company 7yrs ago? Or is it acceptable to get a reference from a manager who now works for another company?

I also worked for a subsidiary of a large corp. It is a small company and most of the people I worked with have left. I therefore have no one to confirm my responsibilities. Head office can only send me a certificate of employment with employment dates and salary package. Has anyone experienced this problem and how have you handled it?

Would appreciate your help.

Yollie

You should go to HR or if you have employment hire letter, it should be fine to send a copy to CIC and make sure you explain to CIC what happened.
