  Hi guys,
If you will remember, last Dec 16, I posted about an email I got from Detroit that my case is ready for visa issuance and that a letter will be sent to me soon.

Well...that PPR letter arrived today (YEY!!!). My total timeline is almost 2 years from AOR to PPR (Feb 2004 to Jan 2006). Planning to land in April 2006. whoooo such a happy feeling. God is really really great. Just hold on to your faith...everyone´s case will be finished in God´s perfect timing.

Thank you to all of you. This forum has taught me a lot about the process. Good luck to all of you, and Steve a special prayer for you that your case will soon be finished.

God Bless to all!

Thanks to both of you. Time runs fast, before you know it, all of you will be in Canada. :)

On tip though: I confirmed from my PPR that visa expiry is based on the medicals (one year from medical) or passport expiry whichever comes first. So always make sure your passport is valid at least the same time as your medicals or longer.

Congrats Joe & I have a query for you... (in reply to: To Steve, User555 & other 'waiting' detroit cases)
Hi Joe

I am an aspiring applicant for PR. Planning to start with the process soon. I am sure having gone through the complete process you must have done enough research. We as a couple are Indians working in US. Wanted to clarify if someone represented your case or you had done it on your own? We are a bit confused in this regard to begin with, pls...

Thanks for advice in advance...
Regards
Radhika

Radhika,

You can apply on your own, you really dont need any representation, go to cic.gc.ca, their forms are pretty self explanatory.

Hi Radhika,

At the start I also hired a consultant. I was not aware of forums like this that could help me with the process. My consultant helped a lot in the filing of my application...that´s just about it. Somewhere along the way I discovered that they had no intention of delivering everything that I paid for like guaranteed job etc. and they started to ignore my communications when I started to demand for refunds of payments for undelivered services. In the end I just had to let go and charge it to exprience :) then I moved on by myself, then I found this forum.

I cannot blame you if you are contemplating on getting a consultant, the process looked complicated but really not. Try to access this link and read it through and through.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/op06e.pdf

Now, here is the link to the self-assessment so you would know if you will be able to have a minimum of 67 points.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html

Now here is the link to all the application forms that you need to fill out. try to print them and study every item.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/skilled.html

Don´t let all this links scare you. People in this forum are very helpful. Now, if money is not a concern for you and you really feel the need of a consultant, go ahead hire one BUT please try to choose wisely.

good luck.
