Dear Sir,
I live and work in UK on work permit and applied for Canaidian Immigration in 2001 from Islamabad Pak. I received passport request on 13th dec and I booked ticket in rush in almost double of normal price and came pak on 24th dec. I sent my passport on 26th dec 2005 to CIC Islamabad by fedex. I was told by fedex office that it shud be back by 1st week of Jan.
When I received passport request I was trying to sort out accomodation in England bcoz my landlord asked to empty house by 31st dec. Because of this PR request I put my stuff here and there and some expensive items in office and took off from office till 18th of Jan.
Now I havent got my passport yet. I sent fax to Canadian Embassy on 16th of January and explained the situation and requested to sent my passport back asap.
Today I also paid penalty for cancellation of ticket.
Can anybody help. Is there any way to make it fast. Can I send my request to headoffice[in Canada] to ask CIC islamabad to process my case fast.
I am receiving emails by my employer and friends [who kept my stuff], when am coming back?

Sorry to hear that Sheraz. All you can do is to send email queries and Faxes etc to them. I know a couple of guys in India who have been waiting for their Passports from last 3-4 months but again i dont think how CIC works in Pakistan. you should have got your case transferred to UK. But that option is gone now. All you can do is keep on sending them the reminders and hope that they will respond.

It is really sad. After a long wait and patience on the name of background check CIC is behaving like this. I want to ask question to those who always write in support of the CIC. Those who always claim that it is not the CIC which is responsible for the delays. In fact the countries involved in background checks are the culprits. Agreed that there are some matters like background checks, which are out of control of CIC. But how about this case? Are they still doing background check? If yes then why did they send passport request? Are they checking his pic? Are they trying to enlarge his passport size picture to see his identification marks? or simply trying to frame his picture and later hang it in main hall of CIC office?
shezad you can´t do anything but wait. Try to contact them by fax or if possible go there and explain your situation to them.

Sheraz, i wonder when you went to Pakistan to get your visa stamped, why did you send your passport through FEDEX. You should have gone in person to get the visa. In USA you can get your visa stamped the same day you submitt your passport in person. Dont you guys have the option to go in person in Pakistan. And if you were bound to send through mail then why didn´t you send your passport through FEDEX from England with a valid address in Pakistan. I suggest, write a detailed letter and explain all the problems you have had because of this delay and they might think seriously to send your passport back. Good luck

I got my passport this morning. CIC did respond to my fax and processed my case on priority.

I had been employed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 1991 till 2002 in a hospital. Now I am in Pakistan since 2002. I am applying for immigration to Canada. Do I need police verification from Saudi Arabia ? Since I am in Pakistan, It is really difficult to get police verification from Saudi Arabai. Please let em know if any other possibility....Hope an urgent reply will be given. Thanks

my medical was one on 11th march,09 and 9 months have passed uptill now.i dont get any clue that as medical is last thing then still why are they taking long time? my attorney asked them but there´s no answer even 2 months have passed"when he wrote to islamabad office".i know how we 3 passed/passing this waiting period "as my wife and 3 yrs old son are in canada,waiting for last more than 2 yrs and im hanging here in pakistan".i and my wife will get PR together as we applied within canada and then i left for pakistan to fasten the process,our son is canadian born.i was told by cic canada that i will be processed fast if i go to pakistan.they are not replying of any of our inquiry ´in islamabad office´,site shows thier workin hrs but no one ever answers phone even.why they waste time like this?i know the rules etc watever,negligence is never a process..even i cant manage my career and cant plan my life´where i dont know that when/what and after how much more time anything is gonna happen in my case.for GOD sake if someone can tell me how much more time is required in my case?im so tired of waiting.thx

I have the same issue. I got a job in Canada and the start date is 24th Feb 2013 but my passport is not yet back. I sent the passport to Islamabad CHC on 27th Dec 2012 and they received it too. Does a fax will help? I also sent them my job offer letter.
