Subject: Immigrant Visa Question |

Hi,
I have a quick question about the immigrant visa stamping. To bring you in context, I applied for canadian immigration from US and I am out of the US right now; my friend (who is monitoring my mail) informed me that the Canadian consulate is asking for my passport for stamping the immigrant visa!
Since I am out of US, is it possible that I could send my passport through mail to my friend and he send it to Canadian consulate on my behalf and get the visa stamped? once he gets the passport, he will mail the passport back to me in my country.
Now my questions are:
(1) Is it ok to do what I just described?
(2) Will I be able to enter Canada using the visa which has been stamped that way?
(3) Any other issues that you might think of?
Thanks,
Martin

(in reply to: Immigrant Visa Question) 1. I hope you need to get approval from passport office in India ( if you are in India) to send the passport over the broder.
2. Yes your friend can send the passport, and got the stamping done and send it back to you. U can travel on this.
3. Check the legal issue point 1 before sending the passport.

(in reply to: Immigrant Visa Question) 1) Yes. Most of the people in your situation do the same thing.
2) Yes.
3) Like App0 mentioned just make sure you can mail your passpor to your friend and he can mail it back to you.
Also use FedEx, UPS, DHL or any reliable courier service that can be tracked.
