Subject: Update of family status before Medical
  I´m a SW applicatant, my IA was March 2002.

Since applying I have not recieved any communocation from CIC and my online status has been "in progress". Suddenly last month I got 2 letters from them.

The 1st was to send some more documents so they could accelerate my process but before I could fill the forms and send all the required document I got a 2nd letter. This one also requested for more info/documents but also requested that I pay the RoPR fee and also included a medical form for me to take to the doctor.

I´ve now sent all required forms and documents and I´ve scheduled my medical for next week, my problem is that the the medical form was marked x3, which was my family size when I initially applied, but we are now a family of 5 as I´ve since had 2 more kids.

Do you advice that I still go for the medical with the initial 3 or wait until I get 2 more medical forms for my new family members. With the form/info I resently sent I updated my family details and paid the processing fee for the 2 new kids.

All efforts to talk with CIC has been abortive, I´ve sent emails and as usualy there reply is that they would repond in 4 weeks plus.

Send them a letter in writing about the change in your family status. Ask them to send medical forms for your 2 other children. To save time fill out their complete information and send their pictures also.

Thanks Narmi,
I did just that when I sent in all the information they required. I attached a covering letter explaining my circumstance and also attached a bank draft to cover their processing fee (US$260).

The issue is "should I wait for them to send me the 2 additional forms or should I do the medical for the initial 3 and do the last 2 later whenever they send the forms?"

Write a letter to the Canadian embassy and tell them about the addition in the family. Let them know that you have already paid their processing fee. Request the immigration official to add your 2 children to your application and issue their medical forms.

1) Certified copy of baby?s Birth Certificate;
2) Copy of Passport;
3) the second page of IMM0008;
4) 4 photos;
5) Cover letter to inform CIC the birth of child - Mention your file number
6) Additional Family information (IMM 5406) form

Hi Packman,

You dont need to wait for that. Just do medical for ur kids. Until doctor sends it to CIC, u write them and request to add kids in ur file.

Thanks Sandeep,
But do you know if this would delay my application? Do you know of anyone that has been in my similar situation and what they did?

I really just want to know which option would be the fastest, either to wait and all go together in the future or do the 3 first and the last 2 whenever they send the new forms.

I would wait for the kids medical forms, there is no point in doing medicals for you now and later for your kids because unless all medical results received the medical decision will remain pending.

Thanks mts,
I hope this won´t have any adverse effect because they say I should submit all requirements before the 30th Jan (60 days from date on letter). I´ve sent all other documents but I´m not sure if this also applies to the medical.

I´ve already book a date with the doctor and to be on the safe side I will still keep the date and do the other 2 later whenever they send their forms.
