Hi!
I am a French citizen and a spouse of a Canadian citizen. My husband sponsored me and my two children (from a previous marriage). The sponsorship application went through and the file was forwarded to Paris. Paris wrote to my husband to acknowledge receipt of the file.
I am in Canada with my two children under a visitor status which is expiring in 3 days! We applied for extension of stay, but it wasn´t granted. I am asked to leave Canada. What happens if I don´t leave Canada as asked?
- What can I do?
- What might happen to my immigration application in Paris if I stay in Canada without extension of stay?
- Can I still have my file transfered to be processed from within Canada although Paris has started working on it?

Get out of there then return on a visitor visa..
Otherwise you will get troubles! go to the states and reenter canada. I guess you can do that with your french passport (u turn)

To go to the States, I´ll have to apply for a visa, as my passport is not a machine readable passport. If I could get a visa on the same day, I would definitely go to the States.

don´t stay in Canada if your visitor status expired, its too risky, remeber your application in paris is more important and could be finilised very soon, so don´t do anything that you will regret in the future.
they could ban you from entering Canada for up to 3 years if you break immigration laws.

I´ll take your advice. My children are on my passport. I can´t leave with them because they go to school and it is too expensive. Will I have problems at the border for not taking them with me? We entered Canada at the same time.
