You´re not going to see any immediate changes in the immigration system. It´s too weak a minority to see any radical changes in anything. Relax.

increasing the passmark is not a radical change, it´s what I think will happen and if you think about it, its a good step, instead of having so many applicants waiting for 4-5 years why not have the right number and let them in within a reasonable delays, it´s even better to be refused than to wait 5 years during which you will have to freeze your life and plans.

You´re being unreasonable and hysterical. There might be some changes, but that would only include positive things like speeding up the process. They won´t increase the points. Conservatives did not win majority so they can´t change things drastically.

a) If they do change the passmark, say from 67 to 75, does all previous applications that have not been completed fall under the new points immediately OR its only for applications going forward ?

b) If "a" above is true, then I am assuming that it still would affect the applications only till the IA process right ? Once you are done with the IA, without any request for IELTS etc, and with just medicals and police clearance pending, one should be ok right ?

I?ve heard that Conservatives are going to increase the pass mark up to 75 which will affect all the previous applicants who?s cases have not been completed

What is your source for that information? I haven´t heard any such thing, and I´ve been following all the immigration issues pretty closely.

Don´t get sucked into a mass hysteria over nothing. I´ll say it again, you´re not going to see ANY changes in the immigration policies for quite some time.

If anything, Harper has promised to only make things easier for immigrants, not harder.

R-E-L-A-X !!!

I have concluded that some of you enjoy being stressed.
If there is no legitimate thing to be stressed about - you make things up.

5.181; Raj; Harper; 169.217... all of you - stop it already.

Thanks for your advice Sharon, but believe me I am in no hurry to get to Canada, so you can throw the thought of me being stressed out of the window. But information does not hurt anyone, and my question was actually related to what can I expect if (a big IF) the pass marks change, in any case I will surely give sincere consideration to your advice.... no really, I will !!
