GOOD NEWS!!!!
We got the PPR today!!
Our timeline...
(Spousal application - US citizen)
Sept 20/05 - Sent application to cPC-M
Oct 29/05 - Sponsor portion approved
Nov 3/05 - Buffalo begins processing
Jan 3/06 - IA, interview waiver, and request for 2 more documents
Jan 24/06 - PPR!!
I just want to mention this was our 2nd application. Our first, filed in the fall of 2004 was refused (Conjugal Partner class - no impediment to marriage), and we started from scratch with a spousal application.
This is a very triumphant day for us :)

Ano - the medical was sent in with the application (up-front medicals). This was a family class application.
IA - Initial Assessment
PPR - Passport request
