Subject: file transfers for mar 2005
  Hi There,
I applied on Dec 2004 and received AOR Mar 14, 2005. Like everybody else my file has been transferred to NY to expedite the process. Can anyone please throw some light into this matter. is this something new. my case is supposed to be pretty straightforward and i was expcting my IA, instead i got this transfer letter. will there be a interview? I fear this will send the application back under a heap of other previous applications and IA would be really far off.

or is NY going to really assess in the next week or so to actually expedite the process. To those people who had their files transferred, were your cases simple and straightforward. i have a canadian bachelors degree, passed CELPIP with flying colors in august, 2 years of canadian work experience (plus i am currently working on a post-graduate work permit which expires in 3 months), full points for age, points for adaptability too as i studied in canada.

Is anybody´S case similar to this and could share his experience. i just got worried cuz its been too long now a wait or is this some kind of a new strategy on part of cic for dec 2004 and onwards applicants.

i look forward to your insights.

thank you all.

I have same time line as yours. And my file has been transfered to NY too. Plus, my background is pretty similar to you.

Hi there,
My case is similar to your´s. I have a Canadian BSc, with one year of Canadian work experience from post-graduate work experience. My visa expired in Feb 2007. The file transfers seem to be a recent development in the IA news for Dec 2004 to early 2005 applicants. I think that this would probably speed up the application process for all of us. I´ve heard that anyone who gets a file transfer will usually have to attend an interview at that location. I applied in Feb 2005 and got my AOR at end of Mar 2005. Still waiting for IA news, but I´m guessing they might transfer my file as well.

Question for you anonymous: What are you planning on doing once your visa expires? Are you going back to your home country? Are you applying for a visitor visa to extend your stay in Canada? Just curious, because I have until Feb 2007 to get my PR, after which I will be in the same situation as you.

Hi Joy,
I will be trying to get an extension on my work-permit as my employer will be doing that for me. they have filled out the LMO form. if i do get lmo, then hopefully CIC will grant me an extension on my work-permit, if i dont get an LMO, i will then go back to school for the spring session. i will enroll in a graduate diploma course of 30 credits which should give me a student permit for 1 year. hopefully in that time i will get my PR.

joy, furthermore, i have reason to believe that file transfer is for expediting... now only god knows whether it will "expedite" or not. I am hopeful, otherwise they cant just call for so many interviews at the same time.

Same as your guys (in reply to: file transfers for mar 2005)
Hi. My experience and applied time is identical with Anonymous. I thought my case was straitforward enough so that I didn´t use a lawyers. My file got transferred too to Buffalo... Good luck to all of us in the same boat...

I think all Mar AORs will have to wait at least till end of February to find out about their IA. I had read somewhere last year that they were planning on transferring files to different offices in the US in order to speed up the process. So if this is true, the whole process should take no longer than 18 to 20 months.

well the problem is medicals..it takes around 4 months for ottawa to send the results to the Consulate. the other delay is RCMP. I applied for that a month ago. according to their website it takes 150 days!!!

anyways, if they dont ask for the RCMP certificate then i think it will be quicker. i say this cuz two friends, similar cases werent asked for one.
