Subject: Regarding W2 submission.....pls help !
  Hi,
If I have to submit my W2s: I have been in US since 2003, but sometimes on and off on projects. So, my W2s do not have sufficient amount on it. I am worried, do I need to modify my w2s? If I don´t modify then earnings are "very very" low on the w2s :(
Will they verify with IRS when I submit my W2s?
Please let me know.

Regds,
Mamtha

You do not want to lie to them. They asked for my W2 from 2000 to 2005. I did not have my 2000 so I wrote to them that I do not have it, they only ask for W2 to verify that you worked, not how much you made..

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for the reply.
But if you do not have for 2000, you should have submitted from 2001 to 2005 which is ok. But in my case, all my W2s do not have enough earnings on them, which might raise a question that I have not been employed continously. I am on H1 and on and off on assignments.
Did you mail a copy of your w2s to the embassy? or did U go in person (if interview) and took your original w2s?

Thanks,
Mamtha

I maild eveything from 2001 to 2005. I am not sure when you submitted your application if you also send letter from the places you worked. If you did that then CIC already know how long you worked in each place, correct, if not then it depends what you have said in your application in the work history sec. If you have indicated that you have worked all this time, they might question the $ vs time you work, but I doubt they will look at deep at this stage. I assume you got your IA?

No, they did not request yet. I know they would ask sometime later, just was curious about how it works and how important it is. I was kinda scared that I don´t have enough earnings.

You could try posting your question on BritishExpats.com
a guy named Jim Humphry(or something like that) who is an ex-visa office staff, often respond in that forum.
